App Picks of the Week: Screens, djay, iPhone Drive

Every week, we select a few apps that catch our eye. These apps can be from the App Store, web apps, or jailbreak apps.

This week, we have three awesome App Store apps. Hope you enjoy this week’s picks!
Screens
Screens is a gorgeous VNC client for iOS that was updated to version 1.5 this past week. Although the app was already the best VNC option for iOS, its recent update makes it all the more appealing.

Alongside fullscreen mode, Screens 1.5 brings user interface enhancements and added privacy improvement. Although Screens is much for fun to use on the iPad, the iPhone version is still the best VNC option available in the App Store. Screens will allow you to remotely connect to your computer with style and ease.

Screens isn’t cheap, but it’s worth it if you’ve been looking for a full-featured VNC client for iOS. The app is available for $19.99 in the App Store.

djay

From the company that has already released djay Remote in the App Store, the new djay app offers you a DJ turntable on your iPhone. Serving as the most robust and elegant DJ app available, djay for iPhone and iPod touch gives you the ability to mix and do live performances straight on your iPhone.

While the more serious Dj’s will probably prefer a real turntable, the djay app still offers plenty of options for being the music man at the next party. If anything, the app is just fun to play with. You’ll spend plenty of time learning how to mix and loop effectively with the iPhone’s tiny screen (it can be done).

djay is available for only $0.99 in the App Store.

iPhone Drive

iPhone Drive allows you to use your iPhone’s memory storage as a portable USB drive. The options and features in iPhone Drive make it a very compelling replacement for other jailbreak solutions. You can transfer files to and fro through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

iPhone Drive makes a decent file manager, and you can also view data such as documents and play most types of media. There’s even a built-in web browser.

If you’ve wanted a cheap way to store files on the iPhone, iPhone Drive is a definite candidate for your consideration. The app is available for free in the App Store.
