iPhone TIPS: iPad 2 Front Facing Camera's Real Purpose is 3D

Who is using the Front Facing iPad 2 camera? Well maybe everyone will in the near future. The real purpose of the frontfacing camera is not to use it as a camera. No, the real purpose is to use it as a head-movement-sensor!
That can be concluded by checking the demo below. The people of EHCI research group has managed to make the camera do head tracking. The picture displayed on the iPad screen is changing according to the movements. The result is that the head-tracked person sees the 3D picture is moving accordingly. This is really cool and I can imagine many creative uses for this upcoming technology. So besides the accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, gps the camera is another movement sensor.
